Dear Brian – What are some video games that don’t require quick reaction time?
For someone who has motor skill issues, injuries, or is just poor at fast games, what are some good video games, new or old, that don’t require quick reflexes? I can think of a few RPGs that are turn-based but not much else.
Turn-based strategy games are your best bet for enjoyable games that don’t require speed to be fun. Sid Meier‘s games are among my favorite TBS games.
I’ve played Civilization since the first one, and any of those games are still great to play. Graphics have obviously gotten better, and the mechanics have evolved over time, but, like most Nintendo or Capcom games, all Civilization games aged well.
Card games are another great option. My personal favorite is Hearthstone, which follows the same basic card dynamics as Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh and the like. There are also more casual card games available online or through mobile stores that resemble the ones included with older versions of Windows.
Anything based on a board game would work as well. Everything from chess and backgammon to Monopoly has a digital game out there.
And, although I’m not a big fan, games like The Sims or Second Life don’t require fast reactions.
Dear Brian – What are some actual reasons why people think Donald Trump would be a bad president, not including his appearance/wealth?
Like honestly, I have looked all over the internet and the only reasons people can say for why he shouldn’t be president is his appearance(hair), bragging of his wealth(he worked hard people!), and that he would put our country in danger by pissing off other countries’ leaders.
Well, many people actually highlight his fascist policies – he’s basically an amped-up version of George W. Bush. Trump is running on a platform promising to ramp up our national defense, which many people fear because our government already has totalitarian control.
I see it as people’s fear to face reality. Instead of realizing a President can’t overhaul the government, they continue throwing blind faith to external factors to fix what they’re too scared to fix themselves.
Personally I want Trump to become President so people can see a face on our government that matches the rest of it. We long ago created a monster, and only a complete, mentally retarded fool thinks there’s anyone they can elect to any position to change it.
Revolution is the only way to fix our country, and that would likely weaken the U.S. to the point of another country taking over at least a few states before we’re able to fight them back.
I would recommend moving to a rural area away from the border for your best chance of survival. I truly believe our generation will live to see the fall of the American empire, regardless of who’s President. Trump clearly believes that too, which is why he wasn’t to fortify the country and shut down the borders.
Dear Brian – Why does Twitch recommend such high-end PCs?
8 GB RAM?? Why?
Gaming takes a decent PC just to run on high settings. It’s one of the most resource-heavy applications a personal computer can run.
Another resource-intensive activity is video processing, which Twitch does on top of gaming. Adding to this is that you’re live-streaming all of this to the internet (while likely playing an online game through Steam).
With all of these resource-intensive applications happening simultaneously, you need a high-end PC to keep the lag to a minimum.
