Dr. Brian Penny is a former business analyst and operations manager at Countrywide and Bank of America turned whistleblower and freelance writer. He worked as a ghostwriter for a decade, and you’ve definitely read his work, whether it was attributed to him or not. He also has dozens of bylined pieces around the web.
Leaving Bank of America
On January 5, 2011, Penny quit his job. Bank of America’s Corporate Security filed false bomb charges against Penny. After beating the charges, Penny leaked emails proving rampant corruption and fraud in the force-placed insurance industry.
This caught Penny up in a variety of legislation and regulations from the New York Department of Financial Services, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, State Attorneys General Coalition, Federal Housing Finance Agency, and multiple class action lawsuits.
On December 6, 2014, Penny was jailed by the Mesa Superior Court after a default civil defamation judgment in case CV2014-093104 for naming an executive in his leak.
Leaving Fear and Loathing
Having survived severe retaliation by the banks, Dr. Penny began working as a freelance writer, being syndicated throughout the web. Although not trained as a journalist, Penny successfully utilized his business acumen to reach a wide variety of publications.
Dr. Penny is known for biting satire, glorifying trolls, pirates, and hackers, and rampant drug experimentation. His gonzo-style journalism and editorials cover topics ranging from digital security to gaming, piracy, cartoons, hip-hop, ethics, whistleblowing, Anonymous, activism, cannabis, yoga, meditation, spirituality, small business, trolling, movies, television, pop culture, art, comedy, and much more.
Dr. Brian Penny’s work can be found on The Huffington Post, The Street, Main Street, Lifehack, Hardcore Droid, Hardcore Games, Cannabis Now, Gaiam, MindBodyGreen, Elephant Journal, Yahoo, MSN, The Small Business Resource, Small Business Daily, Dumb Little Man, Fast Company, High Times, and many more…

Backlash and Criticism
Brian Penny is known for his wildly varied demeanor, often changing from nice guy to huge asshole. He infamously beefed with YourAnonNews, Eminem, Roseanne Barr, Amber Lyon, Dell Cameron, Ricky Camilleri, and various other entertainers, reporters, and characters throughout the media.
On October 12, 2014, Penny’s Blogger blog was deleted by his former boss, so Penny moved his business to WordPress, where his 1st Amendment rights have not yet been violated by bogus court orders.
One year later on October 12, 2015, the January 2016 issue of High Times was being published, featuring the story of Penny’s incarceration in Tent City.

Misadventures in Media and Marketing
After High Times, Penny moved on to shine a light into the murky gray area between media and marketing. He regularly attends major trades shows and events, and his name is well-known in the PR world. Penny’s “marketing to marketers” tactic of spamming those whose lives are dedicated to spamming us earned him the ire of both sides of the media/marketing fence.
Dr. Penny is now a seasoned freelance journalist, writer, blogger, content creator, and artist. There’s not a publication in the English speaking world he hasn’t ghostwritten for through his various enterprise and B2B contracts. He’s always onboarding long-term clients and is an expert on online revenue streams.
He works with both large companies and independent activists, journalists, and other revolutionaries, to enable open and efficient communication. He’s available for consulting and willing to use his extensive archive of knowledge, resources, and contacts to help whoever needs it.
