A 40-Year-Old Virgin to YouTube At 40 years old, I'm not getting any younger, so it's time to dive in and learn the ropes

I’ve been writing for a long time, but it’s mostly blogs, editorials, and such. Occasionally, I’d dive into a podcast, YouTube video, news show, radio show, etc., but I mostly stuck to written channels. I’m trying to expand past that to reach more people who…I guess the most polite way to say this is “don’t read.”

So, every Monday at 4:20pm for the rest of my life, I’m going to see if I can stick to a schedule of recording an hour livestream. Eventually I’ll figure out how to simulcast across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, and everywhere else I can go live.

The format is basically just 4/20 tea talk. I give out a discount for Dr. Dabber, and I discuss the topics of the day, which have basically been related to both covid-19 and cannabis mostly. Going to try and do some summaries from memory here to help with SEO. Here are synopses for the first three streams.

1. A 40-Year-Old Virgin to Face Masks, Streaming, and Cannabis/Hemp

This is my first stream. I kept the blue/red lights on to stick with the police vibe. I may do that more often in these streams. As I get good at this, I’ll eventually build an audience. I already gained a handful directly from these streams.

In this episode, I discuss my plans to make a face mask and all the different air filters I found that would do. Inevitably, copper-infused fabric is my favorite discovery. Living in Arizona, I’ll trust the healing powers of copper. Then I discuss streaming and a bunch of cannabis brands I’ve been sitting on for a while, like the Tectonic9 and Atomic9 from Cloudious9.

2. A 40-Year-Old Virgin to Bootlegging, ISO, and Economic Relief

By this point, the stimulus packages are on their way. It’s April and the CARES Act is official, but the stores are still out of quite a bit. I talk about what I go through to maintain hygiene during lockdown. I’m a fan of disinfectant sprays and rubbing alcohol, so I talk about the many uses of them while giving a shout-out to the local brands whose products I got through the grapevine, so to speak.

Then we talk about the proposed stimulus checks, and a bit of uncomfortable financial talk during these tough times. As always, the main two things we’re hitting are the Dr. Dabber Switch and Storz & Bickel The Mighty.

3. A 40-Year-Old Virgin to Stimulus Shaming, Professionalism, and 4/20

In this episode I go all in, making sure to burn a few bridges along with my weed. We talk about some of the good things going on in Arizona MMJ, but we also talk about the bad. And I’ve seen plenty of bad in my years, including most recently watching the Phoenix New Times go out of its way to bury stories to help their cannabis advertisers.

These were once respected investigative journalists, but it became quickly clear to me in selling them a handful of stories a few months back that they can’t be trusted. I also explain the gaslighting from the Frank Crallie, VP of Operations at Sublime Brands. He’s a former drill sergeant who suddenly wants to act like he’s never said the words pussy or cunt in his life. Apparently he’s also part of a local cartel of bad actors in the cannabis industry who work with Phoenix New Times to bury stories that are critical of them.

Like I say in the video, if you don’t believe me, ask Arizona State Democrats like Isela Blanc or cannabis scientists like Ryan Treacy at C4 Labs about how uncomfortable they are with the shenanigans going on to block testing and push fake results.

I also mock the so-called “medical professionals” of the cannabis industry. Then we discuss a bad way to market to MMJ cardholders (the failed Grow Sciences stimulus) versus a great way to do it (Charlotte’s Web).
