Lady Gaga and John Legend Team with WHO for Covid-19 Relief Concert Our generation's Live Aid is coming in the strangest form.

Queen’s epic Live Aid performance in London’s Wembley Stadium remains one of rock and roll’s biggest moments. This dual-venue concert also took place in John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia, and over 160,000 people attended live between the two events. The benefit concert was accompanied by concerts in the Soviet Union, Canada, Australia, and more over 30 years ago in 1985. It was meant to support aid workers to provide famine relief in starving third-world countries.

In 2020, we’re all headed for the third-world conditions of poverty, starvation, and disease. We’re stuck at home while the economy crumbles, and most celebrity attempts to make us feel better about it have fallen flat. That’s not stopping them from trying. In fact, the World Health Organization is teaming with celebrities like Lady Gaga, John Legend, Chris Martin, Billie Eilish, and more for a modern version of Live Aid.

It’s going to be eery (check out Wrestlemania 36 for an idea), but will it work?

Here’s the video announcement from this morning.

Check out the press release below, and we’ll find out together on April 16.
