The Grudge Reboot Is Being Pummeled by Critics Sam Raimi's reboot of a classic 2002 Japanese horror flick got panned

After a young mother murders her family in her own house, a single mother and detective tries to investigate and solve the case. Later, she discovers the house is cursed by a vengeful ghost that dooms those who enter it with a violent death. Producer Sam Raimi and Sony Pictures enlisted Nicolas Pesce to direct a reboot of the 2004 Sarah Michelle Gellar movie that was itself a remake of a 2002 Ju-On.

Critics haven’t been happy.
