The internet doesn’t have to be a serious place. In fact, it’s filled with comedic gold when you know where to look. There are, of course, niches for every taste of humor. It’s a sliding scale, and we all have different triggers that make us laugh.
Even hardcore fans of comedy have different preferences on style and media. Stand up, for example, is a great way to hear jokes. Sketches add a new visual level to stand up comedy. TV shows and movies flesh the ideas out even further.
Some things, however, are universally funny, like watching people get hit in the crotch or bit by an animal when they’re jerks.
I think I’m pretty funny, but there are a lot of angry people out there who disagree. I wonder if these top YouTube comedians experience the same kinda hate I do.
Also feel free to check out these hilarious comedy podcasts if that’s more your thing.

She’s very hit-or-miss when it comes to video quality, but she’s pretty consistently funny. It helps that she’s pretty and wears a lot of makeup. She’s as close as we’re going to get to a 21st Century Lucille Ball. It’s a shame she’ll never be anywhere near as tall as me.

If you remember TV’s The Man Show, you’re old and outdated. But you’re also onto something, because Rhett & Link are easily the funniest comedy duo on YouTube. They have a very “Man Show” feel to their mythical morning talk show, which rarely goes a full week without catching me off guard with something.

Screen Junkies has everything you’d ever want from an entertainment/pop culture/comedy channel. Honest Trailers is always hilarious, and the commentary videos of Honest Trailers creates a new audience lane. All of the news and content is relevant, and there’s a talk show to boot. This is Nick Cannon of YouTube.

Ryan Higa is one of few people to challenge PewDiePie’s dominance on YouTube. And it’s easy to see why – check out some of his most popular videos, and they’re actually well produced and hilarious. That unique blend of talent, skill, creativity, and execution makes Ryan Higa someone to keep an eye on.

I never thought I’d be stoned enough to find this creepy, annoying orange funny. And yet here we are – this is easily one of the most surreal and hilarious YouTube shows you’ll ever watch. Whether you’re into that sorta thing is a different story altogether.

If there’s anybody who understands comedy, it’s college kids. Teenagers and young adults have infamously refined pallets for humor and aren’t fooled by anything less than the best. CollegeHumor has been around since I was actually in college at the turn of the century. It’s great seeing them still around and making insanely LOL content.

Funny or Die was founded by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Michael Kvamme, and Chris Henchy back in 2007. It’s still going strong today on the backs of its many celebrity contributors. If you’re not familiar with the full FoD vault, check out Between Two Ferns, celebrity sex tapes, and all sorts of hilarious political humor.

Prank videos are a dime a dozen, but Jesse and Jeana made it their own by constantly pulling Jackass-style pranks on each other. They got so good at it they even had an early YouTube Red show where they taught their craft to others. Still keep up on the vlogs and pranks this year, because you never know what they’ll do.

Smosh was a website that predated YouTube, and the duo is one of the original YouTube comedy groups. They’ve come a long way since their humble beginnings and now have a much larger group of people to keep working even though their parent company disintegrated late in 2018. Still, they hit the ground running and are continuing to bring the laughs into 2019.

You’ve likely seen Lilly Singh over the past few years, and she’s still going with one of the strongest YouTube channels in the comedy genre. She cut down from two videos per week to one in 2019, but she clearly still has that spark in her. If you’re not already caught up with this funny female, check out one of her channels today.
