The Best Bluetooth Headphones in Every Category

Bluetooth headphones are everywhere these days, and it can be hard to tell which actually work well and which are just another generic pair manufactured in China and marketed by a savvy middleman company like Damson Audio.

Lucky for you, I’ve tested dozens of bluetooth headphones this year, and these are my picks for the best from my personal collection. Keep in mind, I get all my bluetooth headphones (and all the rest of the products you see featured on my blog) for free from PR agencies.

Best Fully Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds – Jabra Elite Sport

The Jabra Elite Sport are my personal favorite earbuds on the planet. I use them almost daily on my walks and never have any issues with dead batteries, poor sound quality, or comfort. When not wearing them, they store inside a handy case that also keeps them charged all day. They’re marketed at 13.5 hours, but they tend to last closer to 13 in my experience.

Best Semi-Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds – Monster iSport Victory

Before I received Jabra’s earbuds, Monster’s iSport Victory was my go-to set, beating out Beats by Dre and other competitive offerings from Jabra in terms of sound quality and comfort. Over time, however, the cord connecting them started to really annoy me. If Bluetooth earbuds are supposed to be wireless, the inclusion of a wire to connect them seemed stupid. Thankfully companies are starting to move away from this design, but if you prefer it, these are the earbuds I love.

Best Bluetooth Over-Ear Headphones – Master and Dynamic MW60

Master and Dynamic MW60

While earbuds are nice, nothing beats a nice over-ear pair of headphones to produce the best sound quality. Master and Dynamic uses top-of-the-line materials and eschews all the digital processing built in to other Bluetooth audio devices to create as pure a sound as you can possibly get. Plug them in to your record player, and you’ll hear a sound you simply can’t from any of today’s modern headphones…except the MW60. They’re an audiophile’s dream.

Best On-Ear Bluetooth Headphones – Plantronics Backbeat Sense

Plantronics Backbeat Sense

Finally, we have on-ear headphones, which used to be the standard back in the late 20th century. Of course, back then we were listening to tape cassettes on a Walkman. These days, we use our smartphones for most audio, and Plantronics Backbeat Sense is the best on-ear headset on the market.
