If you’re not already aware, I’m a fan of Wikipedia (although Wikipedia hates me). It’s one of the first resources people turn to for answers (even though you can’t directly cite it in most circles).
I received a press release today from a company called WikiPatrol, which promises to help brands maintain order on their Wikipedia pages.
Wikipedia long ago removed my wiki page due to me using it as part of my portfolio. However, having been a whistleblower, I’m mentioned on Bank of America’s wiki page.
I don’t necessarily agree with brands being able to control their own encyclopedic story, but I am fully aware corporations and celebrities often hire these people for such a purpose.
