It’s important to stay informed, and that means sitting through the news. Nobody wants to be inundated with a million references to Trump. Love or hate him, he’s in charge, so he’s pretty much all anyone’s talking about.
Regardless of how you feel or what current events you keep up with, there’s a YouTube channel for you. It’s the biggest video streaming site, so that’s where we’ll focus.
We collected the best of talk and interview shows, vlogs and news-style channels to help make things easier. Most (if not all) have a presence on other channels too, but they’re still worth watching on YouTube, whether live or prerecorded.
Here are the top ten YouTube channels for watching the news, whether political, cultural, entertainment, sports, or whatever you’re into.
10. NowThis News
Former Huffington Post staffers created this station for quick news bites that won’t bog you down. If you just want to hear 1-5 minute overviews of a story with no fluff, this is a great place to do it. That’s actually really ironic since HuffPost itself is almost as fluffy as Buzzfeed.

If you’re loud and proud of your hate for libtard snowflakes, this is the news show for you. Life may have a known liberal bias, but conservatives still want everyone to follow the rules. Watch the news with a point of view that matches what you believe, no matter what that is.

Russia Today is the Russian version of PBS, BBC, or NPR, and it’s one of the better international news organizations to be found online. However, it does get all the typical Russian stereotypes about interfering with everything in a very biased Russian way. I don’t always agree with the Russians, but I do love my biased reporting. I somehow miss watching Alyona Minkovski too, even though I’m sure if she remembers me, it’s not in a good light haha.
7. VOA News
Host: United States
The U.S. has its own government-funded news media, and nobody cares much because it’s not as flashy as CNN or Fox. Still, this is an important feed to have open if you’re a true news junkie. It reminds me of the Armed Forces Network I grew up with, something I’m sure plays in jails and prisons around the country.

Songifying the news is still a thing all these years later, and it’s still funny in small doses. Of course, the Gregory Brothers have moved on to a lot of other things too, but this is still their biggest baby. It’s also a decent enough place to find out about the news in a way that won’t make you want to throw up if you’re not into that kinda thing.

CNN is one of the most trusted news sources in America, with 24/7 coverage running around the clock. Catch up on all the biggest stories on a national level whenever you want with their YouTube channel, which is mostly shortened versions of the TV coverage with not much original content.
Subscribers: 2.9 Million
Qatari-based Al Jazeera is the first English-language news channel headquartered in the Middle East. It’s an important portal to perspectives on the other side of the world, formatted for western ears. It’s also one of the more trustworthy sources of journalism anywhere on the globe.
Subscribers: ~3 Million
NPR has some of the most interesting and engaging content to be found on any channel. YouTube is one of them, with tiny desk concerts, NatGeo-like outdoor content, boots-on-the-ground coverage of events, and more being featured. There are several NPR channels, and all your favorite segments are featured, from Planet Money to jazz.
Host: Cenk Uygur, Ben Mankiewicz, Ana Kasparian, Jill Pike

TYT is one of the longest-running and biggest online news shows out there. These journalists take on stories nobody else is talking about, and they even find fresh takes on the stories everyone actually is discussing. If you want to hear another perspective on anything happening in this world, TYT is the place to do it. Otherwise, check out one of these liberal news sites.
Host: Philip DeFranco
Subscribers: 6.4 Million
DeFranco has been in the YouTube game since 2006, and the quality of his videos has steadily increased since. He now has a staff running all aspects of his business, including merch, social, and operations.
