Episode 2 ended with Rhys, Fiona, Sasha, and Vaughn being held captive at the Gortys facility by August and Hugo Vasquez. I chose to trust Fiona (instead of Handsome Jack), and she threw a flashbang grenade in the air.
Vaughn is stunned while Loader Bot beats up Rhys. Fiona rips off his antenna and destroys Vasquez’s universal remote. There’s an intense battle, but everyone escapes on Loader Bot. Unfortunately at the entrance, they’re shot down by an RPG.
In control of Fiona, the party meets Vallory, the planet’s crime queenpin and August’s mom.
Vallory – Vallory is an older woman with an army of armed thugs with her. Fiona has the opportunity to express her lack of fear, but the assassins from earlier (along with Hugo and August) are.
In full control of the situation, Vallory demands to know who’s responsible, and Fiona can choose whomever she wants. Whoever she chooses will remember (as will Vallory), and either way August is punished and Vasquez is killed.
As Mallory pulls the trigger on Fiona, Athena intervenes, killing Vallory’s thugs and pushing her to the ground, taking the Gortys. She explains that she was hired by Felix to mentor them.
The conversation has a few minor choices, but then it’s time to open Gortys, who turns out to be an adorable robot with a cheery disposition.
Gortys – Very excited to meet you, Gortys is a piece of the Atlas puzzle designed to obtain a vault. An artificial intelligence, Gortys is happy to meet everyone and experience everything, leading the team on a journey toward the next piece.
On the train, Rhys continues his conversations with Handsome Jack’s ghost only he can see, while Gortys and Loader Bot commentate.
Soon they arrive in a frozen forest that Gortys says holds his next upgrade. Here they meet Cassius
Cassius – Dr. Cassius Leclemaine is an Atlas scientist. In fact, he’s the last Atlas employee left alive on Pandora, thanks to Athena’s deadly rampage. He just wants to get everyone away and pretends he’s just a harmless drifter on the run.
After some conversation, Rhys and Sasha head one way while Fiona and Athena head the other. As Fiona, you can give Vaughn his assignment.
Rhys and Sasha are in a blue forest filled with flying glowing thingies. You’re given plenty of opportunity to flirt with Sasha, and she remembers your every reaction, clearly smitten.
By choosing to give her a flower, it squirts yellow pollen on Rhys, and the flying things turn red hot and give chase. They make it into the security room to shut off the turrets.
Meanwhile Athena and Fiona deal with vault monsters and get to know each other better. Athena upgrades Fiona’s gun and gives her more bullets, you’re then trained on shooting. From this point, there’s quite a bit of action.
Once the Gortys upgrade is recovered, they return, and Athena learns who Cassius is, charging him with her sword. As Fiona, you have a choice to weigh in on whether or not he deserves to die for hiring her to kill her own sister.
Before anything can happen, Brick bursts through the window, tackling Athena and pulling her out. Then Vallory shoots a rocket into the tower, and Loader Bot saves Gortys as everything fades to black.
Rhys wakes up facing Vallory and has a chance to respond to her before being punched and Loader Bot is dismantled. When Gortys is freed from Loader Bot’s grip, Rhys tells him to run, which he does, as August gives chase.
Fiona wakes up hanging upside down facing Kroger and Finch, who took the upgrade and her gun. When Sasha creates a diversion in the bushes, you can swing back and forth until you have momentum to take the gun and shoot Finch again.
Then a fight sequence commences where you must punch them both and steal their weapons while continuing to swing back and forth. Once you escape, Sasha goes with Loader Bot to save Gortys while Fiona goes after Athena.
Brick – A vault hunter like Athena, Brick is akin to Rhino in Spider-Man. He simply pummels his way through everything. When he’s about to hit Athena, Fiona activates the killer plant to grab his arm. Soon he’s joined by a sniper.
Mordecai – Another vault hunter, Mordecai is the sniper Vallory hired to work with Brick. Fiona shoots him, but he survives, and they eventually take out Fiona.
When Fiona wakes, she sees Vallory, who takes a quick stock of the situation and decides to shoot Fiona with the rocket. Athena throws her shield and you have to catch it. Then Vallory fires on Athena, and you have choices to save her, none of which are effective.
Soon everyone is captured and the episode ends. The below 2 screenshots show all the choices available.
