Who is the Anonymous Woman Who Accused Aziz Ansari of Sexual Misconduct

Aziz Ansari was accused by an anonymous woman of sexual misconduct by the website Babe.net.

She was called “Grace” in a scathing report published with seemingly no reason other than to disgrace Ansari.

It ignited a debate about where to draw the line between sexual misconduct and innocent miscommunication and which Aziz is guilty of. I, along with just about every other rational adult in this country, believe in the latter.

And of course since the Internet exists, it wasn’t long before the 4Chan forums identified his accuser as photographer Abby Nierman, who works social media for Birchbox, CUPS, and GRANA.

Here’s a pic of a now-deleted tweet, and if you search her Twitter name “@abbyybba” along with Aziz Ansari on Google, you’ll see remnants of the conversation.

She took to social media in October to complain about him, but has since deleted any accounts (including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) that mentioned him. Twitter was actually not deleted, but instead renamed to @Cheeto_Ego, which is now private.

The Internet archives can still find this tweet though: https://twitter.com/abbyybba/status/920387459367751685

She definitely fits the bill, as she’s a 23-year-old photographer from Illinois living in NYC. Her social media profiles were all named Snack Hoe, and she’s been confirmed on Internet forums to have been at the Emmys as the date of Ibanda Ruhumbika (The Late Show band’s tuba player).

Ruhumbika has yet to release a public statement about how violated he feels knowing Abby hit on another man while on a date with him.

She was shopping the story around for months before finally reaching Katie Way at Babe.net, so the assertion that she sought Babe because she trusted them is bullshit.

In fact, rapper Joe Budden even mentioned Aziz had an accuser out there on his podcast last year.

She was telling her story to anybody who would listen, and she was quick to cover that part up. But the Internet never forgets, and it didn’t take long to unmask her.

It’ll be interesting to see if she faces the same humiliation he did at her hands.

***Update 1/20/18 – It appears Abby started a new account under the Abbyybba username. She’s maintaining two separate Twitter accounts, one private and one public. Seems she does understand the difference between someone’s public and personal lives…just not for Ansari.

I guess by that metric 2 minutes is “a long time ago”. At 12:01 on January 1st you scream out to your friend’s on New Year’s Eve that you haven’t seen them in a “year?”

The article raises good points, and I’m glad that this stupid story went away. But let’s not make it as though Budden was reporting on this for some time.

Are you 12? How is that age difference disturbing? It’s not that big. It’s not like she was 23 and he was 53. Grow up. If you can’t handle sex, you’re not mature enough for it.

Abby is an attention whore, she deserves to be victimized for real.

@Marlo: ageism is worse than racism.

I think Ansari has the right to date whoever he wants to, regardless of identity.

The podcast is from last month by the way. You wrote last year.

This might shock you, but there are plenty of white women who date brown/black men becaue they are attracted to them. I am one of them.

Hook up culture has ruined romance. I may sound awful saying this but whem i first heard the story i thought. “I BET SHE IS WHITE AND DATES People of Colour to be EDGY” Like Lena Dunham kind of white girl….privilidge and unaware….so seeing who she is doesnt surprise me. She is still very young and most white women at this age do not know how to stand up for themselves whereas a woman of colour would probably do better in that situation. Like i know i have. Aziz should not have taken a girl that young back home. The age difference is disturbing even though its legal and relationships like this exist
But more importantly….bruh….you got yourself mixed up with this white girl. This is what you get. Stop fetishizing white women. Date another Asian, a black girl, an hispanic. Come on.
